Kaen Oan mango
🥭 Kaen Oan Mango
Kaen Oan is a Thai mango cultivar known for its elongated fruit, attractive pink-orange/blushed skin, creamy flesh and relatively mild, balanced flavour. It is less famous internationally than Nam Dok Mai or R2E2, but it can be an interesting specialty/exotic mango for a diversified orchard.
There is a caveat: Thai mango cultivar names can be confusing, and historical literature notes that Thailand has many cultivar names and identification can be difficult. For commercial planting, authenticated grafted material is therefore important.

A Thai mango reference describes Kaen Oan as having an elongated shape, thin skin with a peach-like colour, dense creamy flesh with little fibre, and a pleasant flavour with slight acidity. It is described there as a later-season mango, with a peak around October–December under those conditions.
🍑 Taste
Kaen Oan is interesting because it isn't necessarily designed around the extremely high sweetness of varieties such as Nam Dok Mai.
Its appeal is more of a balanced sweet–slightly acidic flavour, combined with creamy, relatively low-fibre flesh. That can make it attractive for people who prefer a mango that is sweet but not excessively sugary.
🌳 Production
As with other Thai mangoes, flowering and harvest timing will depend heavily on the local climate and orchard management. Thai mangoes generally flower toward the cooler/drier part of the season, with fruit maturing afterward; cultivar and location make a significant difference.
For Karnataka, I would use:
☀️ Full sunlight
💧 Drip irrigation
🌱 Well-drained soil
✂️ Regular canopy pruning
🌬️ Good ventilation
🪴 Balanced nutrition, particularly during fruit development
🚫 Avoid prolonged waterlogging
